ARIZONA PARKS & RECREATION ASSOCIATION LETTER TO MEMBERSThe Arizona Parks and Recreation Association (APRA)
Hello APRA Members,
In keeping with the national theme of "Leave No Child Inside" and APRA's goals, we're pleased to announce a partnership opportunity with Sports MatchMaker® (SMM). Owners Chris and Ken Zrike have pledged to donate monies to our Foundation as they do an international media launch of their cutting-edge website. They have spent years preparing and we are hoping the technology goes viral quickly as you all start using it and the media stories hit the press. The Zrikes are committed to raising money for youth-athletics and other youth-achievement programs around the world.
This technology is the next generation of "social networking," but thankfully it is not a new indoor "toy" like MySpace or FaceBook. This is a digital "tool" that recreation professionals, individuals, couples and/or teams can use to search for and set up sports/activities matches (parents can set up supervised matches for their children, too). For example, you can quickly search for an individual or group that has requested to play tennis/golf or any sport/activity at a defined level of ability, location, date and time, while traveling or at home, and join-in with one simple click.
The APRA is inviting you to use this new free website, which can not only help you coordinate teams and competition for your parks departments, but can also be used to find other individuals and couples to hike, bike, or do any sport/activity with you personally or with your family. The new website, called SportsMatchMaker.com, is being launched in Arizona and we will be the first group of members using the tool for our sport/activity matches.
On the home page you can watch a movie, listen to audio or read all about SMM, and then sign up for free. Then you can begin inviting your friends into your Player's Network™ (like friends circle). There are no costs to use this software, as the advertising revenue by businesses will keep it up and running.
In fact, in the first three months, all advertising revenue generated by the $200 fee to be included in the Players Guide™ will go to our APRA Fund, along with 40% of all website page banner ads, and a certain percent of all Arizona advertising for the life of our partnership.
So golf clubs, gyms, tennis clubs, baseball field owners, fitness centers, restaurants, sports pubs, etc. should sign up now to secure their permanent place in the Guide (see Players Guide on site). Then when players search for these types of venues after making their matches with others, advertisers will be shown. Also, be sure to do your profile and add a picture so your friends/family/associates know it is you, and you can invite each other into your Player's Network™.
The site is designed to increase membership in a very rapid manner (utilizing "viral loops") once the initial members kick it off and invite all their friends. This is where we really need your help, please, since APRA will benefit financially and be able to pass all that along to our and YOUR programs. So, it is imperative that we help populate the SMM website, which will help to attract the advertisers, since we all directly benefit from this ad revenue.

You want to play so you "Reply" quickly on your cell with the "Join" keyword (without knowing the requestor's cell # and vice versa). The requestor gets a message that you joined and replies with the "accept" keyword. You get a message back and proceed to the club to meet your match! The ways to use this site are intriguing and represent an improved healthy, exciting lifestyle!
You can also search for SMM players for all kinds of sports around the state. If you want to go hiking somewhere in Arizona, look for another APRA player that has requested to hike on the days and times your are free. The software is extremely versatile and can sort through thousands of profiles to find someone that fits your skill level and interests. The key is to get as many people signed up as possible so there are plenty of opportunities for public matches (anyone), as well as private ones with people in your own Player's Network™.
Once you join SMM, you can invite all your friends and associates by using the Invite Form on the site. Simply insert their email addresses (ten at a time), or you can email them yourself using your own email account, of course. Once they join, invite them into your Player's Network™. The larger your network, the more fun and adventure you'll get.

There are many categories for advertisers in addition to sporting/athletic facilities and clubs. In the social arena there are movie theaters, restaurants, hotels, sports pubs, etc., which are frequented by active people.
